Two hundred people will head to the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury tomorrow for the 15th annual TILL Games, which bring together athletes with and without disabilities to compete.

Abby Park in East Milton Square has a problem most restaurants would love to have – lines of people hungry to try out the brand-new eatery, which opened last month. We visited Abby Park, which specializes in modern American cuisine, on a Tuesday night and never even thought about getting a reservation. Who needs a reservation that early in the week, in the middle of summer? Well, we could have used one. There was a line from the time we arrived, at about 6:30, until we left after 8.

The secret to Abby Park’s success as an upscale eatery launched in the middle of the recession just might be as simple as a liquor license.

When the newly opened Abby Park restaurant in Milton prepared to add lunch service this week, it announced the news on its Twitter page. The restaurant just opened this month and already has 149 people following its “tweets,” the 140-character messages that are the standard mode of communication on Twitter.

Barring a late reprieve, the Westwood Respite Center will shut down after this weekend – no longer providing fun for developmentally disabled adults and much-needed caregiving breaks for their families. The center is a victim of the poor economy and state budget cuts.

The Westwood Respite Center will close its doors next weekend, leaving 68 families of adults with developmental problems without their home away from home.
